I tapped into the 8 pin din connector cable. I spliced in two RCA cables, and I have a 4 channel amp. While setting the gains on my amp, I discovered that the front RCA signal was giving me .6 volts while the rear was giving me 2.4 volts. My amp will power 4 channels with only one set of inputs (you can switch between 2 and 4 channel input). I have found that it sounds better running off of the rear pre-amp out, which is the one that was powering the stock amp/door speakers. Of course, this may be different for the newer head unit. Are you planning to run a sub?
