The best winter all-season tire seems to be the Nokian WR. I've read they cost about $110 ea, but everyone says they beat all other all-seasons in winter & handle like a normal all-season when it's dry. I'll probably spend the extra & get those next time.
How much winter do you get, & can you desribe what you mean by "very unstable"? The BFG Traction T/As have amazing dry grip, but when I'm driving on rain-safe hwys (the ones where they form the pavement with water grooves when they pour the concrete) they make the car shimmy. I know the tire's not unstable, but it takes a bit of getting used to driving on that type of surface. What size & speed rating are the Toyos? Are they all-seasons?
