Synthetic or Fully Synthetic that is the question!

I recently went to Saab to pick up my pre measured 5w-30 oil change which I have been using since I bought the 9-3 SE in 2002. The dealer told me he no longer keeps the semi synthetic in stock because all the saabs have moved to fully synthetic. I purchased a case of Castrol Syntec Blend 5W-30 semi synthetic oil. I noticed however the manual approves for fully synthetic oil as well. Should I think about going fully synthetic? My weekly milage to work is only about 50 miles with a few long trips over 200 miles once or twice a month every other month or so. The recent winters have been bitterly cold here in NJ below 10 degrees daily so I am not sure if that classifies as "extreme driving conditions" as it states in the manual. I do love to drive it in heavy snowfalls which kicks in my traction control a whole lot!! Any advice would be appreciated.
