I posted this on the NG900 board, but I think that it is appropriate to the early 9-3s as well.
I have purchased an aftermarket amp for my 97 900 SET. I am retaining the stock head unit. I explained to the salesman that the stock head has front and rear pre-outs. He seemed to think that using line level converters attached to the speaker lines on the back of the head unit was the way to go. I re-emphasized that I had LINE level outputs. He stated that I was sending and amplified signal to my amp and would do damage over time. Opinions?
I am taking lots of pictures of my install and plan to share. Thanks in advance.
