Is it possible to DIY a battery cable?

I am thinking about making my own battery cable instead of buying a new one. I would purchase new terminals, new 4 guage wire, new 8 guage wire, and new connectors. I plan to run everything in the same lengths and terminate in all the same spots. I would replace positive and negative cables, and the smaller accessory cables that are attached. Is there any reason that this should not be done?
New battery cables will be well over $200. I think I can make them myself for under $100. My car feels like it is struggling for power when the ACC kicks on.
