My sludge experience.

Hi, thought I'd share my recent sludge experiences with you guys...
Got a 2000 93 2.0T with just under 60k on it.
The cars got a patchy service history. Early oil changes were at 610 then not till 19k ! Might have missed it's 36k service (I've got no record of it) but was then serviced at 42, just before I bought it. Since I've had I've had the 54k & 66k services done at indie Saab specialists, with my own oil changes in between.
The garage I took it to for the 66k service (last week) use fully synthetic oil - it's only had semi uptil now, so with that & the dodgy history I was a little concerned. Got them to check for sludge & there wasn't any !
Not quite sure what this proves....maybe the sludge problem is more to do with the way it's driven ? It was a fleet car before I had it & I think it spent most of it's life going up & down motorways rather than short trips.
Just thought I'd let folks know it's not all doom & gloom owning a Saab !
P.S. Paid £325 for the service - not as bad as I was expecting....
