Hard starting Viggen

My Viggen starts very hard; I have to use two pushes of the key to "start" to get the car to start. Once started, it restarts fine and seems run fine. I changed the battery during the winter, because of hard starts during very cold days. I don't think the battery needed to be replaced, because the new battery still had a hard time starting the car when the temps were below zero. As compared with the winter's hard starts, they would be about 5 second starts, with only one push of the key to "start"; the current hard starts are much worse.
I also have a DI cassette on order, which should be here tomorrow. However, there's no electrical smell in the engine compartment. I currently have 3/4 tank of gas. If I replace the DI cassette and that doesn't fix the problem, what else could it be? I'm thinking fuel pump, but the car seems to run fine once started.
By the way, why is there no voltage meter in Saabs? I'd love to see if perhaps the alternator isn't working correctly.
