96 Saab 900 SE Turbo. Clutch pedal went soft while driving (heard a popping noise right after pedal depressed). Can't change gear. Turned engine off, was able to put into first gear and drove home (~ 1 mile). Did not attempt to take out of first for fear of not able to change gear. With engine off, able to change gear. Checked clutch cable, can jiggle it and cable was taut when clutch pedal is depressed. What's wrong with the clutch mechanism. Thanks.
