There is nothing that needs to be removed except the license plate frame.
I just drilled 4 or 5 tiny holes large enough for zip ties to fit through and attached it with the zip ties. I know it sounds a little bit of a "duct tape" fix but it is the easiest way to attach it and you will never see the zip ties...especially if you find them or paint them to match whatever color the mesh you're putting in.
It actually helps to prevent a bunch of the abuse from road debris that the intercooler takes.
I did make the mistake of spraying the mesh on my car black. That was about a year ago and it looks like crap now from chips. I'll be replacing it soon with new mesh unpainted.
I also did the grille to match which looks nice (except for the paint issue). The grille is pretty straighforward but definately takes some time, patience and a delicate touch in order not to break anything.
Search this board....I found instructions with pics someone put on the net for doing this.
