I installed MB Quart components in my doors. I had a bad distortion in one speaker at high volumes. I took the door panel off and used my trusty Dremel to grind away some of the fiberboard material nearest to the woofer surround. This did not affect the stock look or structure at all, but it did solve the problem. The surround was hitting this material during high excursion. The woofer on this side was sitting slightly higher as I was experimenting with Dynamat.

I chose the MB Quarts over the Type R's becuase I got a good deal. But, I think the Type R's sounded great. Are you planning to run them from an amp? I would not recommend using the stock amp for this setup.
