I had a 2001 9-3 base before and I am driving a 2002 9-3SE. I love hatchback.

The 2001 had manual climate control but I didn't get any A/C or climate control knob problem. I got the head gasket and turbo replaced because of blue smoke. I drove it for 44K and it was hit by a truck but it save my wife's life.

I bought the 2002 when it had 46K (it is liked raising the 2001 from death). I check both the CarFax & Saab Warranty records and found no major issue or repair. It seems to be better than my 2001. However both cars have some rattle and wind noise (not too loud). There may be suspension noise in winter time. Body Roll seems to be serious too. Be general on the headlight switch too. The dealer told me some people broke it.
