Yes, the oil drain hose is indeed not rubber. And removing the exhaust manifold is not really needed. I've only replaced three turbos in my life ;], but it worked without touching the manifold. With T25, the wastegate actuator vacuum box gets in the way, so you need to unbolt it first.
