Stuck driver's seat adjustment

A while back I was taking a long solo trip in my '96 900SE. To help keep myself awake I decided to change the seat position for a while, in part by raising it. To make a long story short, the seat is now adjusted all the way up and won't go back down. It slides back and forth, tilts, etc., all OK.
This is a bit of a problem because I'm pretty tall. Any idea how to fix it?
