Cracked cooling fan wires?

I was changing the oil this weekend on my 96 900s and noticed that many of the wires coming from the radiator cooling fan are cracked. Can I just wrap some electric tape around these and forget about it or is this going to lead to a costly fan replacement? I haven't found any replacement fan wiring harnesses online. Thanks
