In reciently purchased a 1996 Saab 900 SE Turbo Convertible. The car has about 110k Miles on it. I got it for a pretty good price. The body is in very food shape. However it does have a few issues. If anyone can help me I would apprecite it. I have been a shade tree mechanic for years, have always done my own work. The convertible top went up and down ok for a few cycles, then went as far as the rear window stowed position, then stopped. It will not do anything at this point. I released the red handle as directed in the owners manuel. I return the top to the full closed position. I returned the red handle to the locked position. The "top" switch does nothing, the rear locks do not latch. Any suggestions?
Another issue is a strange noise coming fron\mj the area around the heater control unit, it occurs randomly whether the car is running or not. Sounds like a worn out disk drive. Thats it for now, thanks in advance for anyones help.
