I just followed these instructions after my upper idler gave out at 80Kmi on my 97 900SE. Thanks all! To add a little value (maybe), I found that belt installation went pretty well by passing the new belt as a flattened loop straight down from above and over the crank, then to the front except for the a/c, then to the rear over all pullys, and finally over the a/c with the tensioner retracted.
