Axle/wheel problem, I’m so puzzled…clunking/nasty Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Sun, 23 Apr 2006 14:10:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Got this clunking/cracking noise issue on passenger side of my 97 SE ( Automatic)I just can’t figure out
Any time I shift into drive or reverse and as soon as I take off there is this tremendous clunking punch/hit. Same thing when go in reverse and bring the car to hard stop.
The car runs absolutely great no vibration and feels tight. Both rubber boots on axle are ok.
No CV joint noise when I make full round turns.
I did test in my garage when I left the car in park position and start pushing the front end of car back and forth and I noticed that complete front passenger side wheel is like moving out of position ( about ½ inch) almost jumping forward out of rortation.
Also I have spotted tremendous amount of black grease splattered allover the drive shaft.
Did anybody experience similar problem?
Please note that this problem have developed right after I have replaced entire front suspension ( shocks ,control arm and bushings)
Please advice
Thanks million and happy Saabing
Dan
