Hello All:

Another success with replacing a gas cap, thanks to everyone here! My '99 9-3 with 77k and all services done according to schedule had the problem with the CEL coming on, going off, coming on....and off and on, etc.

The light would come on at about 3/4 full tank, go off at about 1/4. Fairly constant behavior. My mechanic read some of the codes and they kept changing, from front O2 sensor to minor EVAP leak. He said since I wasn't having any noticeable driving problems or changes in under-hood sounds or fuel economy to wait and watch, which I did, and read the SaabNet boards.

Many suggestions about replacing the gas cap with a new one, which I did, and the problem has now resolved for the last three full tanks. No more CEL light going on!
