At 86k, I will need to replace my OEM brakes by 90k. So I have time to shop for pads, clip kits and rotors. Already have ATE Blue fluid on hand and a Motive Bleeder.
Here is what I learned from my 94 SE; I used greenstuff pads and brembo rotors on the front of my 94 SE, and did not like the feel of them, the rotors were fine with no shaking, so I blame the greenstuff pads, little or no dust though. On the rear of my 94 SE I used Zimmerman rotors and Pagid pads and they worked fine or as good as OEM with same amount of dust. An earlier brake job on the front used NAPA stuff which was real dusty and did not last very long. My tire guy told me to use only Saab OEM stuff but that is way expensive.
I am inclined to use either Zimmerman or Brembo rotors with Pagid pads, and a Saab spring clip kit (rear)on my 00 9-3. Anyone do this or are you happy with other brands? Less dust would be nice but not at expense of poor brake feel. I will probably stagger the install doing the front brakes first and waiting a couple of months to do the rear as not to have all new brakes bedding in at the same time.
