Warranty?....Jump starting technique.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Fri, 5 May 2006 12:58:59 In Reply to: Dead Car, John, Thu, 4 May 2006 14:36:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Still under warranty? The battery is a 100% free replacement under the original 4 year 50,000 mile Saab warranty. If under warranty you still have Saab RoadSide Assistance too for jump starts and towing to the dealer, free.
Meanwhile if jump starting gets it close to cranking then it's just a matter of making better connections or refining your jump starting technique. Leave the donor car running while trying to jump the dead car. Run the donor car cables from the battery terminals, but hookup the black/ground on the dead car to the lifting eye on the motor on the side opposite the battery just in front of the cam chain end of the valve cover. The red cable goes to the positive/red battery terminal/cable. Let the donor car run/idle for awhile, 10-15-20 minutes, to charge the dead cars battery and then try to start it.
