Want to finally solve my car pulling to the right issue Posted by Caarma [Email] (#592) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Caarma) on Tue, 16 May 2006 15:12:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 1997 900 S with 120,000 miles...
I already had them replace outer tie rod ends and do the alignment. Tires could be causing part of it, but haven't had a chance to play around with that.
I have found the following...
- Generally pulls to the right, seems to do it more when I accelerate.
- Degree of pull to the right seems to get more severe after it starts doing it.
- If I put the steering wheel slightly left of center when I coast, I can sometimes get it to go straight.
- When the wheels hit a disturbance, it turns the wheels to the right and the car pulls to the right again.
- When I brake it sometimes seems as though the brakes counteract the right pull with a left pull.
Does this point to it being the control arms or the inner tie rod ends? It seems like it's not the tires to me (although they exacerbate the problem). I want to have a better idea before I go to the mechanic.
Thanks in advance,
Atul
