That scary exhilaration is addictive. The Viggen is NOT a car for cell phone talkers, coffee or soda drinkers, etc. When it comes on boost and go you will see why it is the only SAAB that feels like "born from jets."
Torque steer can be heavy, but a rescue kit and judicious tire selection can help.
If the cruise control is broken do not buy as these things will be very extra-legal in a flash. At sixty on a highway, if you floor it to pass a semi-truck, you can easily hit 90+ by the time you reach the cab. Love the midrange torque. Fortunately, it has a speed alert chime that you can set to warn you. As expected they have great brakes. Wonderful seats!!
Down side: Rims are beautiful and soft. I have a bent rear (slight oval) that I will replace at new tire time since it was curable with a good balance. When I got my total service records from the dealer (pre-owned CPO 2001), I saw the previous owner had replaced 3 rims by 23K. All the others are still fine at 50K.
Due to the long overhang, you will have many scrapes on driveways and watch the parking blocks.
I have had the throttle body crack. The DI cassette was replaced (it gave a warning of possible failure) and the interior fan stopped. SID was replaced. All replaced under the CPO at no charge. I have the oil changed at 5K intervals with full synthetic. You will have fun.
PS: All that and they can carry alot due to the great hatch feature, the reason I started to look at used SAABs.
