I have a 2001 9 3 SE convertible. This is my 2nd Saab convertible - I LOVED my first one, which was totaled by someone who did a "hit and run" on me. I all but HATE this one! I have had numerous problems, after which it was out of warranty the dealer would not address at all - even problems that were worked on by them prior to being out of warranty. I digress...
The current problem is with my air conditioning/climate control panel. This panel has been iffy, at best, for quite a while now. The a/c and heat work fine, but you cannot see half of what is on the display, etc... However, last night while driving home, I heard a brief strange noise, that I could not tell where it came from. I didn't notice anything else wrong at this point. This morning, I get into the car, turn on the A/C...nothing. It is dead as a doornail! So, I figure that noise last night had something to do with the A/C.
The climate control panel still lights up (at least the few places it lit up), but no fan and/or compressor comes on. I have checked the fuses on the dashboard side panel by the door, as well as under the hood, and none are blown.
I tried to get into my dealer, but they will can not see me at this time. I was told to bring it in Monday and they would see when they could get to it. If I needed a part, it would be next Wednesday (July 4th) so I would be out of luck.
Is there anything that I can check myself? Any other possibilities to check out?
Thanks in advance for any help out there!
Oh, one more question - any good non-dealer repairs in Memphis, TN that anyone has used?
Thanks!
Leslie
