I have essentially the same car. A new starter is about $200. You could have also had it rebuilt at a cost of about $135. Installing the unit takes about 20-30 minutes. Unless you are completely mechanically inept it appears you tossed at least $300 by taking it in. Even an honest Indy would have done the labor for less than $50. AVOID REPAIR SHOPS WHENEVER POSSIBLE!
