I was so concerned with having the timing behind rather than ahead (as the note in your picture, Anders), I did not think that the two cams must be exactly in sync. Inexperience.
So if I retard the intake one tooth, they will both be slightly behind. I presume that's OK, given my timing chain/guides being worn.
Yes, the tensioner was ~10 mm. Close to the limit. I did not want to replace too many items at once.
