you are absolutely sure of past oil change history. sludged motors are foregone conclusions on these cars, where oil changes are not regularly done, thats why saab would not warranty motor even if 1 change is or cannot be documented. guess they know their car's faults.
my experience. I got burned on a 2001 vert, sludged engine. every thing about car was great when I bought it. Saab/cadillac dealer who sold it pretty much told me to take a hike when I went back 5 months after purchase with sludged motor. non-cpo. ended up paying extra $7k for motor work at dealer.
i was foolish to listen to salesguy who claimed maintenance was top-notch, when in fact they simply know nothing about their used cars history and will tell you anything for sale. if I could do over, i would have bought an audi or bmw cabrio if i was shopping used. do yourself favor and learn from my lesson.
