Been there done that, unfortunately. I installed #6 on my TWO Saabs, a 2000 9-3 base and a 2002 9-5 Aero with 70K and 60K respectively. I noted a slight but definite increase in oil consumption with both cars (one car originally used tiny amount between 5K mile changes and the other about one qt. every 3K), so I checked, rechecked and rechecked again and again and also checked the functioning of the valves. Everything indicated that the hoses were installed correctly and working as they should. Everyone that responded on this board claimed that oil consumption was not part of their experience with #6, but I had the same results on two cars simultaneously. My driving is divided between periods of fast and hard, and short trips driven slowly. Each car consumes more when driven hard, so I theorize that the #6 is ventilating better than previous systems under load, and some consumption of oil may be an unfortunate side effect for some. Just a guess.
From your description below I would say that yours is installed correctly.
