Cori, you are getting screwed. Sad. I would guess that more thought has gone into solving your problem via the few responses you have on this BB than all the mechanics at the dealership combined. Would there even be a code for an intermittent started issue? C'mon saab...this is weak. Sure, sometimes these things can be curious at best but not that difficult. I would simply tell them that you want a new started and positive cable installed. Ground wires checked and a new ignition switch. At the most, the dealership loses 200 dollars in parts and a few hours of labor. They are giving you the run-around and it makes me sick. Do these things really need to be replaced? I don't know from where I stand but if they are unwilling to go through some basic tests then they should just replace the stuff.
With the suggestion made that the voltage difference be measured, the suggestion wasn't with the battery but between the battery voltage and the voltage at the starter. I doubt they did that. It would have required them to crouch down some, lean forward and attach a clip to the starter terminal (all seemingly above them at this point). The question was asked whether or not this tends to happen when the car is warm, cold or anytime. Let us know.
I imagine it to be a real pain to know what the next step is but you bought a warrantee and they HAVE to take care of the problem...the suggestion to contact the BBB isn't a bad one. At least it will put them on the list of baddies.
