Car would not start........

at least not yesterday, I'll explain. Own a 1997 Saab 900S, has 180,000 miles on it, 2.3 non turbo, auto. trans.
Two months ago, the car would not start, found out it was a fuel pump. Went to my local Saab shop and had the fuel pump changed and up to this point started and ran great, now the problem.
Yesterday I drove the car to work and home, then to the store, and was going to go back out a little later and the car wouldn't start. The weird thing is that it had the same symptom's that it had two months ago when the fuel pump went bad, it would turn over and almost seem to want to run but wouldn't. Let the car sit over night, called up the Saab tech. and asked him about the possibility of the fuel pump being bad again and he said "very unlikely". He also went on to say that he has NEVER had a new pump go bad after he installed it.
Guess he was right on that count because this morning after calling him I tried starting it, and the car started as if there was not a problem at all. I don't dare take it out anywhere for fear of it dying on the road.
The dash board lights and gauges seem to be working OK, so thinking that might eliminate the electrical portion of the ignition switch (changed it 20,000 miles ago) so now not sure. Looking for some input on what might be the problem and trying to keep it out of the shop for another expensive fix. Help...
