strut question...yeah, another one. Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Mon, 26 May 2008 19:59:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was looking at my strut set up and planning on swapping in some bilsteins or something. I've seen articles and such that discuss the replacing of these things. I understand from what I've read and seen that replacement involves removing the old "inserts" and installing the new. There is apparently a sleeve nut that holds the insert to the knuckle, right? Well, my set up doesn't seem to have any sort of nut holding things on. It looks as if the strut insert goes through the knuckle and is welded from underneath, where the insert pokes out the bottom. Am I missing something here?
The car is a '95 SE turbo and it makes one heck of a racket on the front left over any sort of uneven surface. All control arm bushings/swaylink bushings/tierods are new.
Thanks folks.
