I did this a couple years ago on my viggen. It's pretty easy. Just make sure you have enough time and don't skip anything. Double check each step. For me ARP headbolts made the process tricky, but OEM should be straightforward. Just follow the steps.
IDM/DIC: loosen 4 star-head(?) bolts using the screw driver in the car jack compartment in trunk. Be careful not to drop the bolts. It could go through the blackhole and never come back. The elec connection needs to be disengaged by pulling out flat red piece of plastic.
Valve cover: loosen bolts as in instruction. Bang with rubber mallet. When putting back you should get a new gasket as mentioned. On Viggen half moon is already part of the gasket though. Sealant is really for sticking the gasket to the cover when inverted to put back on. Make sure gasket fitted Perfectly. Any imperfection, you'll get oil leak and get to see the valves once again.
