A few weeks ago my '99 93 died suddenly with no warning while driving to work. While waiting for a tow I got it to start. Managed to limp to a Saab dealership service garage that wasnt there anymore. Still listed at the old location but not there. I was far from home and any other dealership and the car seemed to be running ok so I decided to get as close to home and my indy as possible. The car started running like crap but I made it (barely) to a cousins house where it died and refused to start. All signs pointed to the DIC from the posts I've read and mine was original with 84k on it. I got a ride to the nearest dealer where I over paid for the new DIC I had been meaning to buy from GS or other source and keep in the trunk. Car started right up. Got home no problem except the CEL was on. Local indy checked codes and cleared CEL. All was well. I think a spare in the trunk is not a bad idea if you have over (what do you guys think) 60-70k miles on it?
