I've been trying to overcome this problem for the past 2 years. I'm located in Brooklyn, NY. I have read virtually every post on this site and still coming up empty. As you know it's a love/hate relationship. I've almost divorced her many times but ya know, when she makes me smile...
Problem 1: 12mpg city 30mpg highway (maximum 210 miles per tank (city/highway).
Problem 2: off the line WOT or even 3/4 throttle bogs until ~50mph then opens up and takes off.
Problem 3: Boost Guage (glowshift) spikes to 25-30psi and immediately drops off. when boost comes on it boosts to 5-10psi. Always spike and cut.
2000 9-3 SE Vert Stage 4 (JAK) Auto, (mileage: 115,000)3" SS dp/exhaust(JSP), Forge BPV, GS Cobra pipe, K&N filter, Performance IC, Poly everything, Sports trans, motor mounts, Koni susp, 17" ronal, Silicone vac lines, etc...
New Parts I've thrown at car...MAP, FPR, MAF (1 year old), DIC, CPS, Vac Valve, BPV, Thermostat, PCV (1 year old), Fuel filter (1 year old), Intake air sensor, both O2 sensors, New Battery, cleaned TB w/ new gasket.
Other info to consider: Pos. Battery cable keeps getting gunked with acid. Headlight do dim occasionaly. I have new Alternator I havent' installed.
I've used Techron many times...Indy Mechanic swapped injectors (no change)
Tech II at idle says everything within specs. I've read about Throttle Position Sensor but don't want to throw more money at the car.
