Wasser, A 01 9-3 does not have a coded radio. The radio is married to the car using the Tech2 scan tool. Sometimes the radio will divorce itself as a result of a flat battery or battery change, and actually ask for a code. What you need is someone with a Tech2 to re-marry the radio to the car. As far as removing the sid, I remove these with a plastic trim removal tool by carefully prying on eash side and it will pop out. You can drive the car withe sid removed. However you will have no horn, no audable click for the turn signals, and the radio controls from the steering wheel will not work. And obviously you won't have any visual reference as to what radio station you are on. Hope this helps. Coldshot...
