Whaddya think the tradein value is? If you trade it in, then someone else will be posting here shortly too about a seized engine.... no-win situation all 'round. This does make me wonder why there is a factory rebuilt is available tho'.
There's supposed to be some detergent you can use to de-sludge the engine... but if there's a lot of metal particles in the engine probably not a good idea. The pre-1999 saab supposedly didn't have this problem; dunno if you'd consider a slightly older car.
