Okay guys. I've tried just about everything and haven't gotten anywhere. I do have a nice collection of parts though.
I have a 99 viggen and it only boosts to 6.5 psi. With the smbc, it can boost to 12 psi w/spikes up to 15 (sometimes it lights the CEL). The car is awesome with the smbc so I know something is wrong that it doesn't run close to that without the smbc.
I have changed the MAF, DIC, BPV, BPC (BPV its the same thing), air filter, fuel filter, changed plugs a couple of times (bcpr7es), ran techron, used 93 gas from all over the place, reset the computer, new fuel regulator, changed most vac lines and checked all the lines pretty thoroughly. I think I remember swapping in a tuned ecu and still only pulling 6.5 psi. The evap purge valve clicks intermittently, but from what I've read, that is okay.
Wastegate actuates pretty well and I don't think that is the problem.
Mechanic told me that when he had the tech II connected, it displayed 24 psi at full boost. My boost gauge installed over the intake manifold reads 6.5 psi. Maybe there is something up with the sensor?
I'm open to suggestions because I'm getting tired of driving this thing knowing what it is supposed to do. Ideas?
