On my '00 I've been doing both belt and pulleys at 60K to coincide with the other items that need to be replaced or serviced at that time (I do it myself). Every time I do this on this car and my 9-5 I have found the items I'm replacing to be in perfect shape (California car), so my opinion is they could be used for many more miles. I've noted on this board that some others (Swedecar, for instance) who are reputable and who do this work often are of the opinion that the belts, at least, are actually quite durable these days. On the other side of the coin, I had a dealer tell me that my belt was cracking and needed replacement at 40K when I had brought the car in for another problem. I said "no thanks" and checked it when I got home. It was just fine, and it was just fine when I finally removed it at 60K.
