With most cars I've had, it was always just a nuisance until I got it fixed. When I was doing the ball joint (control arm replacement) on my wife's car, I snapped this link (I had a feeling the nut would snap off). It was the RH one. I did a quick test drive, and it would rub on the cv axle when making RH turns. So, I wouldn't drive with it. Dangerous, probably not, but IMO, you can risk damage to other parts.
