Get a 2' prybar with a 45 degree taper on one end or a very large chisel about 1" wide with a 1" handle so it's got a serious taper at the blad. Put it on the back side between the upper an lower sections. Hit hard with a 2 lb mallet. It will come apart. Just keep an eye on the front edge of the chisel if you are trying to preserve the boot as a "just in case I can't get it apart" option.
