My daughter has a Saab 9-3 (2001) and she is ready to blow. It does this thing-every once in a while it will refuse to start-even turn over.It happens so seldom it's almost not a problem, but my daughter wonders if it's going to happen whenever she drives it out of town. Twice we've had it towed to the local dealer just to have it decide to start as soon as it rolled off the tow truck.Aslo, twice last winter as she was idling through the line of cars waiting to get into the school, it just stopped and wouldn't start again-at least until we got it to the garage. One Saab guy said we needed a new crank position sensor, so he put in a new one, but that didn't fix the problem. Then we left it with the used Saab dealer/technician from whom we bought it for a month,so that he could start it up and drive it at all times of day and in different conditions, but the car worked perfectly.he said there were about 3 things we could try-all expensive- but none of them could he be sure would fix the problem. I don't want to sell it to some unsuspecting person who wouldn't know about the problem until it happened to him, but I also don't want to "give it away" as a reflection of the problem. I just want to fix it if it won't break the bank, as when the car starts we love it! Has anyone else had this problem? I'm at a loss as to what to do. My daughter refused to take it to college, so it sits in our driveway.
