If the oil light comes on, then goes out I would suspect it's working and sensing low oil pressure. Low oil pressure may be the result of oil rushing to the front of the pan during braking, or low oil level. You might want to drain all the oil and refill it with a known quanity of oil. To be 100% sure, I would put a "sandwich" oil pressure switch in the car. It screws in between the oil filter and oil filter housing and has ports that an electrical oil pressure sensor can be screwed into. Installing one of these is much easier than replacing the OEM oil pressure switch, since it's located on the back of the engine, near the starter. But, if the new sensor shows good oil pressure, you may want to disconnect the OEM sensor... Ron
