the doublewall area is visible once the side trunk liner is removed, including the mouse fur section at the 6x9 rear speaker mount. This reveals the top and side of the wheel well housing, as you look to the side there is an inner side wall with about 2-3 inches of airspace then the inner body fender...the water seeps from the area at the junction of the wheel well, the inner wall and the horizontal trunk floor. On the driver side the power antenna is located between the inner wall and outer wall. The bad thing is you cannot see the source of the leak, not even with flashlight and inspection mirror...I dont know how one could get sealant in there anyway. It would take a flexible fiberscope to see anything back there.
IF IT EVER QUITS RAINING, I may jack up the car, remove the rear wheel and look at the wheel well from underneath, maybe some caulk fell out of a joint here, or my unibody has developed a crack?
I am getting tired of drying this out every few days. But if you dont, black mold will form in the trunk floor mat and it will be stinky.
