Tire Dilemma

The 00 9-3 I just bought has two good (2/3 tread) and two bad Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S on it. One wheels has some serious curb rash (rim and spokes), the others each have some on the rim edge only.
I want to make this car (48k miles) as nice as possible, and refinishing the wheels would be about as expensive as new ones. Plus, I would be without wheels for a few days until they come back from a wheel refinisher (body shops here told me they don't do wheels). I considered upgrading to 17 inch, but don't want to compromise ride comfort. And I like the style of the wheels that were on the car. So I ordered four new rims from eEuroparts.
Now I need to decide what to do with tires. The Michelins are very expensive at $140/each. Tire Rack offers the new Continental ExtremeContact DWS at 75% of the cost of the Michelins ($105/each), and they are lighter and have a better overall rating.
Has anybody tried the Continental ExtremeContact DWS on a 9-3? Do they work well for this car?
I'm trying to figure out, if I should transfer the two good Michelins to the new rims, and buy two matching ones ($280), or just go for four of the less expensive Continentals ($420). I have to pay for mounting and balancing for all four anyway.
Another factor would be what would be easier to sell: The old rims without tires, or with the two good and two not so good tires. Any thoughts on that one? What are four straight wheels with some curb rash worth with and without tires? $100? $200?
Thanks!
