I had a similar thing recently 1999 9-3. It turned out to be the EGR hose by the intake manifold was cracked. I also was getting a stumble after start up. If you remove the plastic cover and check the hoses from the passenger side it is the smaller hose. I applied some electrical tape until my tech was able to replace the hose. I don't know if it is the same for your model year.
