The transponder inside the key is about the size of an M&M, just rectangular. It would be easy to mount in inside the plastic cover that goes around the ignition.
My thinking for doing this is I don't like the size of the key, and I only have two, I have several std key blanks. I would hate to lose one or both of the transponder keys and have a huge problem on my hands.
As far as security, I think the experience theif's would know about the security system and the inexperienced don't know enough to take a 10 year old foreign car.
