So i have been through the dreaded front end vibration on my 99 9-3. As many post state there is many things and many things at once that cause this. I found my last and real issue to be the outer CV joint on the left side. I replaced bad wheel bearings only to have the bad CV join beat it up in 3 weeks.
So on saving money. Napa has complete drive shafts with companion flange for $59. Control arms I would take units to machine shop and have bushings replaced only $21-50 for main large bushing other one around $20.
Shop around with the usual places eeuro saabsite, and a good local guy I have and replace as much of the front suspension wear components as you can. If done at the lower end of the price range this is well under $500. Dealer prices or top shelf stuff could be 2-3 times that.
I am runing 225/40/18 with full koni sport springs stuts rear frame brace and it is down right scary what you have to do to get it understeer.
A yellow entry speed sign at a curvy road or off ramp can easily be taken at 2x speed.
