The car doesn't have ton of miles, so you should be fine once you get it sorted and up to date on service.
BUT...
do not take the car to someone who is "winging it." Saabs, and any European car for that matter, need a certain level of expertise and knowledge. The difference can be huge in the way the car works.
If you can't/won't DIY, use an independent Saab specialist shop and don't go anywhere else. They will have the Tech II computer that can analyze a lot of problems and help fix others. A regular tech won't have this.
BTW, swapping it for a used Mercedes or Bimmer is no solution. They are much more expensive to own and operate and still need someone with specialized knowledge to provide the best service.
If you want fix-it-anywhere ability, get a domestic or maybe a Toyota.
