So as of this morning my plan was that I would be trading this car in on Tuesday (2001 9-3 SE convertible, 117k miles) for a 2004 Aero convertible that I bought on Saturday (see 9-3SS BB for pic).

I had had a slight issue back in the fall with this car when I was getting ready to park it for the winter - clutch had gotten slightly hard and it was a little bit tough to get it into gear. Saab mech had replaced the master cylinder and it seemed OK.

Last weekend I went and got the car out of storage to get ready for the trade and the problem seemed to be back, but worse, so I parked it at my parents house and continued driving my 9k. Today I went to get the car so that I could bring it to the selling dealer on Tuesday for the trade, and less than a half mile away from their house, I stopped being able to shift into any gears at all. The clutch pedal itself feels OK but it's obviously not working. If I have the clutch in and try to put it in 1st, the car will move forward a bit, but won't get into gear no matter how hard I try to force. Reverse is just a loud grind. This tells me the clutch is doing nothing.

Any ideas at all on if there might be a band-aid that I could put on this to drive it about 100 miles? I got pretty badly lowballed on the trade price (and they didn't even know it has a clutch problem!), so I don't feel guilty about dumping it this way - it's going to get wholesaled anyway. Otherwise, I think I may be the proud owner of 3 Saabs on Tuesday because they definitely won't take it in trade like this!

Suppose I could make a summer project out of this if worse comes to worse...
