I did retorque the headbolts last year... but figured since I was going to drain the coolant to replace the o rings for the water pump I replaced last year, I would replace the headgasket so that I wouldn't have to do it in the future. (As John Myer says ... I like to be "meticulous"!) ;-)
Valve cover gasket was replaced last year.
I've done clutch replacements, cv joints, shift linkage upgrade, hydraulic clutch upgrade, engine/tranny mounts.. etc, etc. and head gasket on a c900. So know my way around fairly well.
When I did the head gasket on my c900, I zip-tied the timing chain to the camshaft sprockets using the holes in the sprockets so that the chain orientation wouldn't change (i.e. chain skip a tooth). After removing the sprockets from the cam shafts, removed the head and replaced the gasket. So when I put the head back on, I just attached the camshaft sprockets back on the camshafts making sure the orientation was good. Never had to worry that the timing would be off. Not sure if this technique would work with the OG9-3.
