Thanks much for the reply! I'm beginning to wonder if I need to buy membership here to get more needed answers :)
So, maybe I'm too rattled about this situation, but I'm not entirely following you on the bottom bracket. I've drilled the head clean off, but you think a tool might be able to take the stud out somehow? Can you tell me exactly what tool you speak of? The ones I've seen don't seem like they'll work well with the head gone. Also, someone told me those bolts are like FOUR inches long. I'm not quite sure I understand how long or where exactly they go. I assume they slip though the bracket, the alternator, and then thread into the other side of the bracket. Seems the problem is how hard it is to get to the "other side" of the bracket and get PB on the actual threads?
Also, to confirm on the top I think that might be good news. See, when you google for this stuff people type stuff about different SAAB models and then I get incorrect information. It sounds like the bottom back is the last one and not more crazy ones on the bottom or up against other stuff like I've read about? Just one tough bolt and then she's loose? I'm asking because I was about ready to put the bolts for the top back in too worried I'd never get that bracket loose.
